Calling all unsigned bands
Here's that BIG break you've been waiting for!
The music and fashion industry have fused together to create a once in a lifetime opportunity for an unsigned UK band. Sponsored by Nicholas Deakins, Last Band Standing is a national campaign to find and launch the UKs greatest unsigned band, so be sure to get in early and enter now. The battle commences online from Friday 1st August 2008 at LastBandStanding.co.uk and public voting closes at midnight on Sunday, 19th October so the sooner you enter the more chance your fans have to vote you to the top!
Last Band Standing already has a number of illustrious music industry partners helping with the campaign such as George Shilling the record producer/engineer of Primal Scream and The Soup Dragons. George will be recording and mixing the winning band's single that will be distributed and promoted nationally, as well as getting loads more promotion and help via the other partners. More names will follow in August to make up the final panel.
The top three bands will battle it out at a final at the Cockpit in Leeds on 9th November 2008, supporting a well-known headline act. The winning band will be getting an amazing prize pot that continues to grow day-by-day. Not only will the main sponsor Nicholas Deakins deck the winning band out with a brand new wardrobe and feature them in their national advertising campaign for 2009, but the partners are also set to offer the winning band the highest level of support, management, production, recording, distribution, publicity, exposure as well as a live spot at a major festival with the added possibility of playing at further events throughout 2009. This creates the ultimate prize of a full year of representation, as well as launching the winning band into the public domain.
